West Berks Golf Club

This will be the seventh year we have run a ‘golf competition for bridge players (plus a few guests)’, playing for the Ridgeway Cup.

The event is open to all Clubs in the Ridgeway area i.e. Frilford, Highworth, Hungerford, Marlborough, Newbury, Swindon and Wantage. The venue will be West Berks Golf.

All standards of golfers are welcome and the format will be a team 'better ball Stableford' as well as a singles Stableford (all from full handicaps … max 28 for men, 36 for ladies). Team partners will be dealt for at the start of the day (on a hi/lo split to give everyone a chance) … this mix ‘n’ match process means you might get to meet someone new, as well as avoiding any professional pairings who might attend!

The Ridgeway cup will be awarded to the best individual score (must be a bridge player - current holder Richard Bungey). There will be other prizes, including best team and at least one ‘nearest the pin’.

The event will start from 8.30am with tea/coffee and a bacon roll, followed by 18 holes (first tee time 9.00am) and ending with a 'ploughmans' or cake(choice to be made before you play).
